2 traffickers arrested in Yaounde with 4 gorilla skulls

A suspected gorilla trafficker and his accomplice have been arrested in Bastos neighborhood in Yaounde in possession of 4 gorilla skulls. The main suspect came all the way from Ebolowa in the South region to sell the gorilla skulls in Yaounde.
They were arrested by the forestry and wildlife centre regional control brigade in collaboration with elements of the 10th police station and with technical assistance from LAGA.
The suspected trafficker has been carrying out this illegal activity for some time. He would purchase ape skulls in neighbouring villages in the South Region of the country for future sale. Since the beginning of this year, he has bought ape skulls twice to resell.
