An international ivory trafficker arrested

An ivory trafficker arrested with 8 tusks, weighting 20.5 kg. A businessman based in Kampala, attempted to sell the ivory in the centre of the capital, but he was arrested in the act. After the arrest he revealed that the ivory was brought from Kenya. He is a member of a ring of traffickers, involved in both ivory trade as well as arms trafficking between Uganda, Kenya and South Sudan.
The trafficker was swiftly prosecuted 3 weeks later and sentenced to 1.5 years imprisonment.
