A trafficker arrested for trading in ostriches.
Uganda, 10 Jun 2015A trafficker was arrested with several accomplices during his attempt to sell 2 young ostriches by Natural Resource Conservation Network Team and Lira Central Police officers with assistance of EAGLE Uganda. They tried to get 3,500 USD for the two ostriches.
A trafficker arrested with fake trophies in Lomé
Togo, 9 Jun 2015A trafficker with fake skins and heads of lion and leopard was arrested as a result of TALF´s investigation. 6 leopard heads and 3 skins as well as 1 lion head and 2 skins were falsifications, made of dogs´ skins and heads with painted spots, but the trafficker wanted to sell them as real skins and scam buyers. He was arrested and transferred to the civil prison of Lomé, where he will be prosecuted for fraud, forgery and use of forgeries.

Sniffer dogs in action to save elephants

Rick is running between the suitcases and sniffing around one, another, third one… he is wagging his tail, sometimes looks back at his handler, who is encouraging him to continue. He is enjoying this hide and search game, especially when he can smell something interesting in one of the suitcases. His anxiety escalates, yes, this is the right suitcase! He lays down to show, that he is sure. “Great dog, good dog!” says the handler and waves at the officers that a suspicious suitcase has been identified. Happy Rick gets his toy and is already looking forward to a new game.
